Our Mission
Distance and Distributed
Learning services at Southwest Virginia Community College (SwVCC) strive
to meet the needs of all students by providing alternative pathways to a
quality education through the use of the latest and most innovative
technology.
Distance learning
courses are designed to create opportunities for students whose
inflexible schedules require they take classes near their homes or
independently of a rigid class meeting time.
There are various delivery
methods used in Distance & Distributed Learning at SwVCC. These methods
include: fully interactive electronic classrooms which send top-quality
instruction to and from remote locations, video and audio telecourses
with proven track records of teaching performance and flexible
applications and internet based courses.
